Cardinal dan Ordinal Numbers dan Contohnya

Kali ini kita bahas yang sederhana dulu yah, kita bahas tentang nomor.

Nomor dalam bahasa Inggris ada dua jenis, yaitu: cardinal number dan Ordinal number.

CARDINAL NUMBER

Cardinal numbers represent an amount. Cardinal number menunjukkan suatu jumlah. Biasa disebut bilangan bulat.

Cardinal numbers digunakan untuk:

•             Menunjukkan jumlah / amount
•             Menunjukkan harga (price)
•             Menunjukkan waktu (time)
•             Menunjukkan penampilan fisik, seperti tinggi badan, berat badan, dan umur.
•             Menunjukkan kecepatan
•             Menunjukkan nomor penerbangan
•             Dan lain-lain.

Contoh:

            05.00              It is five o’clock.

            25 kg               twenty-five kilograms

            2008               thousand and eight

            250 km/h       two hundred and fifty kilometers per hour

            1,500 m³         one thousand five hundred cubic meters

            Rp. 3,950.00   Three thousand nine hundred fifty rupiahs

ORDINAL NUMBERS

Ordinal numbers adalah bilangan bertingkat, ini menunjukkan urutan. Ordinal numbers represent an order.
